ShrewsTRUST launch ‘Player of the Month’ award with Shrewsbury Town Football Club

ShrewsTRUST in partnership with Shrewsbury Town Football club are pleased to announce a new ‘Player of the Month’ award which will be presented before the first home game of each month.

Following the success of the shrewsTRUST ‘Player of the Year’ award which is presented at the end of season award ceremony the trust decided to try a new approach...

Basically how it will works is that at the end of each game fans will be invited to text their ‘Man of the Match’ to a specific text number set out at the back of the match day programme. The trust will announce each ‘Man of the Match’ in their programme article then at the end of the month the votes are collated and a ‘Player of the Month’ trophy is presented to the winner.

Trust board member Mike Davis commented,

“Its great that the club have chosen to work with us on this.  In the past the ‘Man of the Match’ has mainly been decided by sponsors so its nice that we can now get the fans to vote and at the end of the month our best player will receive some recognition from the fan base”.
