shrewsTRUST pre match social

Don’t forget that shrewsTRUST are based pre match in the Function Room at the Brooklands. There is a separate bar there, with flat screen TV. It’s proving popular and you can gain information on the Trust (including joining), Supporters Direct and OSC Away Travel News. So why not come along and see us. This invitation is open to everyone, and remember if you’re an adult and join the Trust for a bargain £5 you also get a 78/79 Championship T-shirt absolutely free (whilst stocks last). Kid’s membership is of course absolutely nothing!

Brooklands – Real Ale news

Rob from the Brooklands tells me, that Butcombe Gold and St Austell Tribute will be guest real ale joining Old Speckled Hen on the pumps this weekend.

EVENTS – Poker Night – Friday 30th October 2009- The Brooklands

Our next Poker Night will be on the evening prior us travelling to Notts County, and also Halloween, so could be quite scary. More details to be announced, but keep your diary clear for that date if you like ‘Texas Hold em!’

EVENTS – Fans Xmas Party – including Snail Racing and ‘Hello Cleveland’

Following the Grimsby Town home game, the Trust will be holding their first ‘Fans Xmas Party’ at the Brooklands on Saturday 12th December. The evening will consist of the return of the popular ‘Snail Racing’ (with opportunities to sponsor races, snails and jockeys), other festivities and a performance from top Shrewsbury band ‘Hello Cleveland’ (Hopefully doing their brilliant rendition of ‘Catch us if you can’!). More details to be announced soon.

FANS MAN OF THE MATCH SPONSORED BY shrewsTRUST

Don’t forget that you can vote every game, home and away for your Fans Man of the Match sponsored by shrewsTRUST. It costs just 25p plus your standard network charge. All monies raised from the voting go directly to STFC, so it’s well worth doing. Who will take the monthly crown that Kelvin Langmead won in August! Your votes count!

ShrewsTRUST join Co-operative West Midlands

As shrewsTRUST is an ‘Industrial and Provident Society’ (basically a co-op), we are run on very similar lines as organisations within the Co-operative movement. The Co-op is going through a major promotion which has seen many of its stores re-branded. These stores are run exactly the same as the Trust. Owned by members, who own an equal share. One thing that Co-operative movement does do, with the surplus it generates, is give grant funding to organisations that promote social enterprise and community projects. By joining the local umbrella body, shrewsTRUST will learn and gain experience in this field from fellow ‘co-operators’, including our own supporters body – Supporters Direct. To learn more about Co-operative West Midlands – please go to their website http://www.cooperatives-uk.coop/Home/miniwebs/miniwebsA-z/regionsAndNations/co-operativesWestMidlands.You can actually join your local co-operative society the Midcounties Co-op at their stores around Shrewsbury or at the their website – www.midcounties.coop/
