Supporters Coach continues but needs support!

The Supporters Bus from The Grapes - Bicton Heath, The Beacon – Copthorne, and The Red Barn – Longden Road will run again for the Port Vale game this Saturday. Butneeds every ones support if it is going to continue!

ShrewsTRUST, the Shrewsbury Town Supporters Trust, extended the service that started for the Crewe game, with The Grapes at Bicton Heath, the new starting point a week ago.

Although the service has been well publicised, numbers have so far been disappointing.

Adrian Plimmer, Trust Media Officer said;

“The Trust is fully funding this service for the benefit of all Shrewsbury Town supporters and runs the bus on a ‘break even’ strategy. To keep costs as low as we can, the bus needs to be full, to avoid it making a loss.

Unfortunately numbers, although improving haven’t increased whereby we are breaking even, and as such we have to make a decision as to whether the service can continue.

Therefore the Trust board has decided to give the route from The Grapes, Beacon and Red Barn, one more try. We’ll then review following the Port Vale game if we continue.”

Departure times will be 2 p.m. from the Grapes, with the Beacon at 2.15 p.m, and 2.20 p.m. from the Red Barn. Departure time will be 10 minutes after the Final Whistle from the coach parking point on the north side of the car park at the Prostar. The cost of the service will be £2.50

Parking is available at all pick up venues. Supporters using The Grapes are asked to park at the rear of the building.

Seats should be booked in advance (as we cannot guarantee availability on the day) so for more details contact Lol Evans for The Grapes on 07717442143, the Red Barn on 01743 362503 and the Beacon on 01743 344 286

All the other coaches that the Trust co-ordinate from the Prince of Wales, The Dun Cow, and The Beeches are unaffected, and will continue to run as normal. Full details available on the Trust website www.shrewstrust.co.uk
